Charlotte Perriand et l’aventure des Arcs

49

Architect, urban planner, designer, Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) put her visionary genius at the service of mountain development, from Saint-Nicolas de Véroce to Méribel, from the Belleville valley to Les Arcs in Savoie via China. Combining her passion for the mountains with her professional activity, most of Charlotte Perriand’s pre-war architectural projects are linked to the practice of skiing and mountaineering. Before the birth of paid holidays, she specialized herself in prefabricated housing for leisure, in order to make them accessible to as many people as possible.
