Iwao Yamawaki (1898-1987) started as an architect but quickly felt that he did not fit with Japanese traditions.
So, in 1930, he travelled to Germany to study Architecture at the Bauhaus Dessau, before switching studies to architectural photography, portrait, nature morte and photomontage.
This book is the first monograph of the fascinating experiments of this very talented photographer from the Bauhaus period.
