Christian Poncet’s black and white photographs – lakeside in winter, deserted pontoons, horizons of mist, rivers – lend, as Robert Pujade writes in his preface, matter and form to the echo of our memories and give us the feeling of this uncertainty so peculiar to dreams: thus, when the limits which separate the shore from the sea and the sea from the sky fade into very subtle values of gray and reveal, between the real and the unreal, a world unknown that we imagine recognizing.
