The fabulous and legendary reputation of the Persian rugs has been established for centuries, as a symbol of extraordinary beauty and skill.
This book however, tells an unexpected discovery : in the North of Iran, in the region of Hezar-jerib, a tradition perpetuates, where the traditional design are being substituted by minimalist and abstract taste. These designs are very different from the rest of the rug production, and some of them are even very similar to some modern pieces.
But the most surprising is that the origin of these designs, which remind us of Klee, Kandinsky or Rothko, remains, to this day, unknown.
