Villa Medici and French fashion designer Stéphane Ashpool present Villa Medici Colors: A Chromatic Journey Through Villa Medici, a new publication celebrating the colors of Villa Medici. Developed during Ashpool’s residency at Villa Medici, the project began with a photographic survey of the site. Architectural details, classical sculptures, gardens, frescoes, and fragments of everyday life within the Villa became the starting point for a visual investigation into color as both perception and memory. At the intersection of art, design, fashion, and heritage, this research-driven book serves as both a visual narrative and a working color guide for graphic designers, artists, architects, printers, and color specialists.
Fashion designer and creative director, Stéphane Ashpool is the first recipient of the Villa Medici Fashion Residency, established in 2025 by the Villa Medici, IFM and the DEFI in association with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode and the support of the French cultural minister.
