ADRIAN BURNS : PAREIDOLIA

In these photographs, Adrian Burns invites us beyond appearances to discover a symbolic world hidden in the mysteries of nature. His pareidolic eye reveals the organic curve of a snowy valley, the geometric fragmentation of ice and waves, or the physiognomy of a face. By reworking his prints with graphite or acrylic, he emphasises the signs and symbols that mark out and underlying structure in the chaos of nature. Abandoning subjects and objects in favor of colours, textures and shapes, Adrian Burns transforms the contemplation of the landscape into a portal to abstraction and the mystical experience of forms
