Martin Bogren is represented by the Vu ‘agency. If it is no longer necessary to present the work in black and white of Martin Bogren, famous Swedish photographer (in particular thanks to several very noticed books such as Tractor Boys, Italia, August Song …), his work in color , more recent, had never yet been shown. Passenger, his new work, which is published by lamaindonne editions, unveils for the first time a series made up of both black and white and color photographs.
The opportunity to discover the subtlety of his color images, soft, almost faded colors that remind us of the evanescence and poetry of his black and white work. From his various trips to India, to the city of Calcutta, Martin Bogren brought back a body of images of great intimacy, undoubtedly his most personal series. Portraits of men, between masculinity and femininity, of a city passing from the image of the angel to that of the monster, from joy and play to death and violence, these images take us on an intimate journey, always ambivalent, a journey like a passage that shows us that we are always in motion, never stationary in the same place, never frozen.
